Silvia Behrend, D. Min, M. Div and Certified Pattern Analyst, has been working in the field of human consciousness for over thirty years. As an educator, consultant, speaker, minister and pattern analyst, she has worked with couples, families and individuals through all of life’s transitions: weddings, unions, births, death, divorce, grief, loss, suicide and all events that comprise a life. In addition, she has developed and implemented curricula and programs for all ages and served as a consultant to churches and congregations. She is currently Director of International Studies at the Assisi Institute: The International Center for the Study of Archetypal Patterns and serves on the Board of the Assisi Foundation, a non-profit organization that funds training and education on a global level.
Dr. Behrend has lectured locally and internationally, offering webinars for students in Spain, Australia, Colombia, Ecuador and Russia as they engage in learning about the unconscious, the objective use of images, dream pattern analysis and archetypal pattern analysis.
As an adjunct professor, she has taught at the doctoral, graduate and undergraduate levels, bringing her expertise in human relationships, the use of creativity and self awareness to all classes. She has led physicians and hospital staff in retreats designed to foster greater awareness of themselves as they interact with patients and the world. Dr. Behrend has spoken nationally on issues related to gender, sexuality, and spirituality, as well as been an advocate for GLBTQ youth and adults. She has won several awards for excellence in teaching as well as Biblical Scholarship and completed her thesis for the Assisi Institute's Archetypal Pattern Analyst training on The Archetypal Field of Leadership. www.assisiinstitute.com.
She holds a Doctor of Ministry, a Master of Divinity from Meadville/Lombard Theological school and is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Minister's Association, the Jung Society of Seattle, and the Assisi Institute Alumni Association.
